About me - Delilah

For as long as I can remember, I’ve wanted to become a doctor—a calling shaped, in part, by my own health challenges. My journey began at just three years old, after a ruptured appendix. This lead to decades of gastrointestinal dysfunction that intensified and persisted into my teens and twenties. I grew weary of being told “everything looks fine” on paper, receiving diagnoses that didn’t fully explain my symptoms, and being offered surgical interventions with promises of only mild relief.

Fatigue and pain became part of my every day, affecting my memory, hormones, mood, skin, and sleep. Each symptom compounded the physical and emotional toll of my condition. Through these challenges, I was taught invaluable lessons: to approach health with patience and compassion, to persist in searching for answers even when they seem elusive, and to listen closely to the stories our symptoms are trying to tell.

Through my experience, I identified gaps in conventional medicine, particularly in addressing complex, chronic health issues related to the gut. My passion for integrative medicine grew as I came to appreciate the bio-individuality of each patient. Our health is shaped by unique factors, including genetics, gut and hormonal imbalances, toxin or pathogen exposures, and emotional influences like trauma, mental health, and relationships.

Addressing stubborn symptoms requires a holistic approach tailored to each individual—one that blends modern diagnostics with time-tested traditional therapies that have been around for centuries. My goal is not only to help resolve physical imbalances but also to explore the deeper aspects of your life that contribute to your overall well-being. Together, we can uncover the root cause of your challenges and help you achieve lasting health and vitality.

What is a Naturopathic Doctor

Naturopathic doctors are trained as primary care physicians and are able to diagnose, treat, and prevent acute and chronic illness. Emphasis is placed on understanding the body's ability to heal itself and the importance of treating the underlying causes of illness rather than merely alleviating symptoms. Naturopathic doctors must complete rigorous training which includes a bachelor’s degree with a focus on pre-medical sciences, graduate from an accredited naturopathic medical college, obtain clinical training hours, and pass two sets of licensing examinations.

Naturopathic diagnosis seeks to uncover the root cause of illness, going beyond just treating symptoms. To support its treatments, naturopathy relies on research from a broad range of fields, such as conventional medicine, European complementary practices, clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, pharmacognosy, homeopathy, psychology, and spirituality. By integrating insights from these diverse disciplines, naturopathic medicine offers a comprehensive and evidence-based approach, creating personalized therapies that empower patients and address all aspects of their well-being.

Naturopathic doctors work to restore and establish true health by supporting each person’s individual and inherent self-healing process by focusing on identifying and treating the root cause of illness.
